Current Status
Friends of Green Loop has been working with the City of Portland and community partners to complete the first phase of the Culinary Corridor at the Ankeny West location. We have fulfilled all of the requirements from the City of Portland including insuring the site, securing vendor service (pest control, garbage/recycling collection, etc), spill control plan and submitting a site layout. We have full support from neighboring businesses, many of which are now gone permanently. Our final steps include permitting, financing and construction.
Friends of Green Loop is working through the permitting details with PBOT and Parks & Recreation. Financing will be provided through a loan with Prosper Portland – for which we need to show the permits to secure the funding. That loan will only provide funding for construction costs. Construction can begin once the financing is complete and has been estimated to take approximately 8 weeks.

This effort has taken an extraordinary amount of coordination, facilitation and leadership by Friends of Green Loop. Our work began in Fall of 2018 and has continued to be a labor of love. All of this work has been on a volunteer basis and services provided by our community partners on a pro-bono basis.
