CONCEPT FOR DISCUSSION PURPOSES ONLY

Once the Ankeny West project is complete and sustainable, Friends of Green Loop would like to work with the City of Portland to extend the food carts south along SW 9th to O’Bryant Square to SW Washington St as Phase II of the Culinary Corridor. It is hoped that the proximity of the food carts and the food halls at the new Ritz Carton will enable the city to use the now closed-park, for outdoor seating for diners.

O’Bryant was originally the center of Portland downtown life. The creation of Pioneer Square slowly shifted that activity away from O’Bryant and it became less used.

If Pioneer Square is the Portland’s Living Room, then O’Bryant Square has the opportunity to become Portland’s Dining Room.

CONCEPT FOR DISCUSSION PURPOSES ONLY

O’Bryant Square is currently in need of structural repairs and maintenance. Friends of Green Loop would like to use this project to help support the repair, management and programming of O’Bryant. Revenue generated from Culinary Corridor cart leasing could be used to invest in capital improvements that support the health of the park and advance the concept of the Green Loop.
